I enjoyed the Kate reference, and I am mad for Kate. Kate is a little inconsistent in the way she treats Jack, but Jack has patronized her and treated her horribly since day one. She has put up with it, I think, for the saint/sinner redemption thing. Jack seems to be the type of person who often ends up an abuser who gets away with it because no one ever believes it.
Also, do_not_confess, I enjoy your insightful comments, and slybrunette, I have enjoyed everything I have read of yours immensely.
